Toys for Tots of Alamogordo, NM are sponsoring their “Final Push” toy collection event, prior to the toy give away program on Dec 23rd. They’re asking for all local groups, businesses, and individuals interested in helping to collect toys that will be given to the area’s less fortunate youth this Christmas time. Motorcycle and car clubs will be bringing their vehicles to display and Santa will be there about 9:30 am. Located in the area of the old K-Mart parking lot at the White Sands Mall, 3199 N. The Alamogordo Police is having a Child Safety Seat Fitting Station to offer parents and caregivers personal instruction from certified technicians on the proper selection and use of car seats and booster seats. Fitting stations offer appointments during regular hours of operation at a permanent location. Fitting stations are currently operating in Alamogordo, Albuquerque (three locations), Artesia, Farmington, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Rio Rancho, and Santa Fe. This event runs from 10 am to 12pm. Need a little something to add to your photography portfolio? The Cloud Riders Group will be out at White Sands National Monument for a photoshoot of horses and their riders. House, cottage, mansion, man, woman, ninja, ornament, animal, it doesn’t matter! So long as it’s 7 inches long or tall, the only limit is your imagination (must be family friendly). Saturday, January 6, 2018 ~ Christmas Tree Recycling Curbside Pickup
The City of Alamogordo Community Services Department and Keep Alamogordo Beautiful are once again sponsoring the annual Curb Your Tree recycling event. All participants are asked to place their live Christmas trees in plain sight at the curb in front of their residence by 7:00 am. Please remove all decorations. Discarded trees will be picked up and recycled by Keep Alamogordo Beautiful. If you’re not ready by January 6th to dispose of your tree, there will be two tree drop-off sites available. One drop off point will be at the Civic Center located at 1st Street and the second will be at the Alamogordo Senior Center parking lot located at Indian Wells & Puerto Rico Ave. You can drop off your trees at either of these two locations from January 3rd through January 15th.
